Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Meiwin Fu covering your use of the Whenbus iPhone app and this website. By using either, you accept them. If you do not, please do not use them.

What Whenbus is

Whenbus displays bus arrival predictions for Singapore public bus services, sourced from LTA DataMall, the Land Transport Authority's official public data service. It also shows MRT and LRT station connections at a bus stop for orientation.

Whenbus is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Land Transport Authority, SimplyGo, SBS Transit, SMRT, Tower Transit, Go-Ahead Singapore, or any other transport operator.

Arrival times are predictions

This is the most important thing on this page. The times shown are estimates produced by the operators' own systems from vehicle positions. They change, they can be wrong, and buses are affected by traffic, weather, breakdowns, route diversions and service changes. A countdown reaching zero is not a guarantee that a bus will arrive.

Do not rely on Whenbus where being wrong would matter: catching a last bus, making a flight, or any situation where missing a service has consequences you are not willing to accept. Check the operator's own information for anything that matters.

Live updates

Live Activity countdowns depend on push notification delivery, background execution allowances set by iOS, your network connection, and the availability of the upstream data. Any of these can delay or stop an update without warning. Live updates are a convenience, not an alarm, and should not be treated as one.

A Live Activity ends on its own, and iOS may end it earlier than expected.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the app or our service to place automated, bulk or abusive load on our servers or on LTA DataMall;
• scrape, resell or redistribute the arrival data obtained through the app;
• reverse engineer the app except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded;
• use the app in a way that breaks any law that applies to you.

Purchases

Whenbus is free to download and use, and the free tier shows ads.

Whenbus Pro is an auto-renewing subscription that removes them. It is billed to your Apple Account at the price and interval shown in the app before you confirm. It renews automatically at the end of each period unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before that period ends, and your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before it ends.

Manage or cancel a subscription in iOS Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal and does not refund the period already paid for. Refund requests go to Apple, not to us, because Apple processes the payment and we cannot reverse it.

We may change what the subscription costs or what it includes. If we do, the change applies from your next renewal, and never retroactively to a period you have already paid for.

Availability

We provide Whenbus on an as-is and as-available basis. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, that it will work on every device or iOS version, or that upstream data will always be available. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the app or service, and we may stop supporting older iOS versions.

Intellectual property

The Whenbus name, design, and software are owned by Meiwin Fu. Bus and rail data belongs to its respective owners and is used under LTA DataMall's terms. MRT and LRT line colours and station codes are the Land Transport Authority's.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Meiwin Fu is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for missed transport, missed appointments, or costs incurred because an arrival time was inaccurate, late, or not delivered. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and if you are a consumer you keep your statutory rights.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, the date at the top of this page changes. Continuing to use Whenbus after that date means you accept the updated terms.
